Porcelain Doll

Some days I’d like to be

a porcelain doll,

Just sit on a shelf

near a windowed wall,

The light will shine in

on my dress of lace,

Sun rays will gently

warm my face.

I’ll just sit there and

watch the day,

Listen to the birds chirp

and the children at play.

You see, porcelain dolls

in a windowed wall,

Don’t have to be much

of anything at all.

This is so relaxing DiAnne. One thing I really like is the fact that I did not realize you wrote it until I saw your name at the end…and I loved it BEFORE I realized you are the author! The vivid image of a porcelain doll Just sitting on a shelf, waiting, watching, partaking of the day is amazingly refreshing…thank you!
