Thought You Might Like This...

THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE THIS – ABOUT BOOKS

bookshop

Below is a poem I wrote a while back about how I felt about books but that is not the meat of the post today; just an introduction.  If you will indulge me:

Unknown

I love the feel of a book in my hand,

The smell of an old book store is classic and grand,

Leafing through pages of a classic mystery,

I ponder on  who has read it, their thoughts, their history,

There’s much more in my hand than just a book,

I can travel the world without leaving my nook,

I can pull a book down from any ole’ shelf,

And learn something I didn’t know about myself.

There are no boundaries within her covers,

It’s a place for learners and dreamers and lovers,

Yes, books can actually make you feel,

Without them things just wouldn’t seem real.
