Thomas C Fedro Retrospect UsePhoto by Thomas C. Fedro

Nothing is ever so distant as it seems,

and everything  –  more or less

is what it was meant to be.

The difficulty is the tendency

to procrastinate from seeing things

for what they really are,

rather complicating them

into what we want them to be.

From the day that we emerge,

it may be a consequence of our own making

that we spend so many wasted years

trying to transfer ourselves to others

so they can give us back what we need.
