Broken Pieces

Broken Pieces…(for a friend)

Let’s scrape up all your broken pieces and put them in a jar,

We’ll see if we can put them together and find out where you are,

I want you to know I understand that life has been a drain,

Sucking your whole life dry and leaving you in pain,

I hope we find some larger pieces lying here on the ground,

I believe your heart is still beating and a huge life is here to be found.

So let’s scrape up all these broken pieces and put them in this jar,

And when we’ve put them all together we’ll know just where you are.
