Our World

Our World

Our world seems destined to become covered
with an impenetrable layer of apathy
Growing fast and furious
where life in all it’s forms used to thrive.

Greed and hate seem determined
to push their way upward
taking root in an all-consuming way –
With generosity, compassion and love
becoming all but forgotten.

People look on with vacant faces
and empty stares,
As our world is being overcome
bit by bit.

These wounds need major global healing
from the inside out
Or we can throw out the mission statement
and start writing the eulogy.

About DiAnne Ebejer

I am retired and live on the East coast of Florida where I spend much of my time reading, playing with photography and trying to write some "poetry and then some" at dianneebejer.wordpress.com. I care deeply about many things and wish there was much more love and compassion in this world today. I also have a part time blog "Thought You Might Like This" diannesthingsat.wordpress.com used for special projects and occasional things of interest
