Little Things

flower-garden

I know that those flowers there in the garden
are going to look so pretty on tonight’s dinner table –
But can’t we leave them in the ground to enjoy just
a little bit longer as they continue to bloom?

cherry-trees

And look at those gorgeous trees that are going
to make one outstanding new dining table –
But let’s just let them stand – just until
we’ve seen their pink blooms a little longer.

old-rusty-truck

I know some people think that the rusty old truck out
back  is nothing but an eye sore and needs to go –
But can’t you see the charm in its history somehow?

If we get anxious to move forward too fast
We could miss the value in standing still a bit.
For beauty lives in each precious moment and little thing,
If not lived, something amazing could be missed.
